A beauty storefront carries more product structure than almost any other D2C category. One serum line can run four concentrations, one lipstick line forty shades, one range a dozen skin-type permutations, and every one of those permutations is a page a shopper might land on and a page Googlebot might index or ignore. Add ingredient-led filtering, regimen and routine merchandising, pregnancy and sensitivity flags, batch and expiry visibility, and the build stops being a theme install. We build beauty storefronts as an information architecture problem first and a visual design problem second. Baclinc has shipped 150+ client engagements since 2017 and runs in-house development, so the PDP structure, the filter logic and the front-end performance work sit with one team rather than three vendors.

Why D2C Beauty brands choose us for Website Development.
Shade And Concentration Variants Modelled Properly
A forty-shade foundation line and a three-concentration retinol line break in opposite ways. Shades want one canonical product page with swatch selection, a shared review pool and per-shade image swapping without a URL change. Concentrations want distinct pages, because a buyer searching for a specific percentage has different intent and different content needs. We decide that per line rather than applying one variant pattern across the catalogue, and we wire canonicals and image alt text to match the decision.
Ingredient And Concern Filtering That Is Actually Queryable
Beauty shoppers filter by what is in the bottle and what it is for, not by price band. That means a structured attribute layer - active ingredient, concentration, concern, skin type, texture, fragrance-free, pregnancy-safe - applied at the product level and exposed through a filter UI that does not generate an infinite crawl space. We build the attribute schema, wire faceted navigation with sensible index and noindex rules, and keep the high-value filter combinations as real landing pages.
Regimen And Routine Merchandising Built Into The Template
Beauty sells in sequences. Cleanser, then serum, then moisturiser, then SPF. The PDP that only sells the serum leaves the rest of the routine on the table. We build routine slots into the product template - what to layer this under, what not to combine it with, what step it occupies - as structured content the merchandising team edits, not as a static image the designer has to redraw every launch.
Review Rendering Fixed At Build Time, Not Audited Later
Most beauty review apps inject their widget after page load, which costs you the review stars in search results and pushes a chunk of your most persuasive content out of the initial paint. We resolve this during the build by rendering review content and its markup server-side or at the template layer, so the reviews are present in the HTML the crawler and the shopper both receive on first load.
Speed Budgeted Against A Mid-Range Android Phone
We set a performance budget before the first component ships and test on a throttled mid-range device rather than a developer laptop, because that is what the majority of Indian beauty traffic arrives on. Hero imagery, swatch sprites, video loops and third-party scripts each get an allocation. If a new app or animation exceeds the budget, something else has to give or it does not ship. Budgets set after launch never hold.
Compliance Fields Modelled As Data, Not Copy
Ingredient lists, net quantity, manufacturer and importer details, batch and expiry, country of origin and directions for use are structured fields in the product record, populated once and rendered consistently across PDP, cart and any exported feed. Brands that keep them in a rich-text description end up with inconsistent labelling across a few hundred SKUs and no way to correct it in bulk.
Our Proven Process
Catalogue And Variant Model Workshop
We start with your product data rather than your homepage. Every line is classified by variant type - shade, size, concentration, formulation - and we agree which get one canonical page and which get distinct pages. Bundle and kit behaviour, sampling rules and out-of-stock handling are decided here. This session prevents the most expensive category of rebuild later.
Attribute Schema And Filter Architecture
We define the structured attribute set - active ingredient, concentration, concern, skin type, texture, fragrance and safety flags - and map which filter combinations become indexable landing pages and which stay parameterised and excluded. Faceted navigation is built against that map so the filter UI is useful to shoppers without generating thousands of thin URLs.
PDP And Regimen Template Build
The product template is built around the questions a beauty buyer asks before scrolling: what is the active, what strength, what concern, what skin type, how does it layer, what is the return policy. Routine slots, layering warnings and complementary steps are structured fields. Review content and its markup render with the page rather than after it.
Performance Budget And Asset Pipeline
We set an explicit budget for images, fonts, scripts and third-party apps, then build the asset pipeline to hold it - responsive formats and sizes for swatches and texture shots, deferred loading for below-fold video, and a documented rule for what happens when a new app wants a slot. Testing runs on throttled mid-range Android, not on the build machine.
Compliance And Product Data Fields
Ingredient lists, net quantity, manufacturer and importer details, batch and expiry, country of origin and directions become structured product fields with validation, so an incomplete record cannot publish. The same fields feed the PDP, the cart and any marketplace or ads feed, which means one correction propagates everywhere instead of being reapplied by hand.
Launch, Handover And Post-Launch Tuning
We migrate with redirects mapped SKU by SKU, verify indexation and review rendering after cutover, and hand over documentation your team can actually work from - how to add a shade, how to launch a kit, how to add an attribute. A tuning window follows launch for conversion and performance fixes, with the performance budget re-checked before any new app is approved.
