/ Our Approach

Growing Healthcare brands with Social Media Marketing since 2017.

Healthcare social is doctor-led education, not promotional. NMC ad guidelines prohibit doctors from self-promotion; the compliant lane is patient education - symptom explainers, prevention content, procedure explainers. Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and long-form educational content, plus doctor LinkedIn for specialist authority. Working inside that constraint turns out to be an advantage rather than a limitation, because the content that a compliance framework permits is also the content patients actually want. Nobody follows a hospital for its achievements, but a substantial audience will follow a doctor who explains clearly what a symptom might mean, what a procedure involves and when something genuinely warrants attention. The trust built that way is what brings a patient to your outpatient department months later, and it does not require a single promotional claim.

Healthcare social formats: doctor explainer Reels (symptom, condition, when to see a doctor), prevention content, procedure 'what to expect' videos, patient outcome stories with consent, doctor AMAs. NMC compliance: no 'best doctor' language, no guaranteed-outcome claims, no direct solicitation. ASCI: specific-category risk disclaimers. Platforms: Instagram Reels + Stories, YouTube Shorts + long-form, LinkedIn for specialists and administrators. The practical constraint is clinician time, since a consultant with a full outpatient list will not maintain a posting schedule, so the workable model is short batched filming sessions producing several weeks of material at once with the agency handling everything downstream. The second is the comment section, which in healthcare fills with people describing their own symptoms and asking what to do, and every one of those is a clinical risk if answered casually. We run a response protocol that acknowledges, declines to diagnose and directs to consultation, with genuinely urgent presentations escalated rather than replied to. We have worked with brands in this category since 2017 and can share names on request.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about Social Media Marketing for Healthcare brands

Can doctors be on-camera?

Yes - for education content. Self-promotion language is off-limits per NMC; educational content is compliant.

Patient stories with consent?

Yes with documented consent and compliance review. Outcome language must avoid guarantees.

Rhythm?

3-5 Reels/week minimum. Daily Stories. Weekly long-form YouTube for condition deep-dives.

Community management?

Doctor-led for medical questions; agency/clinic staff for logistics. Clear handoff protocol.

Patients describe their symptoms in the comments. How should we respond?

Never with anything that resembles individual medical advice, however harmless the question looks. A public reply suggesting what a described symptom might be is a consultation without an examination, without a history and without a record, and it carries clinical and regulatory exposure for the doctor whose name is on the account. Our protocol acknowledges the person, states plainly that a symptom cannot be assessed online, and directs them to book a consultation or to emergency care where the description warrants it. Comments describing anything urgent are escalated to your team rather than handled by agency staff, and we keep a standing set of approved responses so replies are fast without being improvised.

Can we post before-and-after photographs?

Not in the restricted categories, and cautiously at best elsewhere, which disappoints most cosmetic and aesthetic clients. Advertising norms treat before-and-after imagery as an implied outcome promise, ASCI applies specific scrutiny to cosmetic and weight-related claims, and the major platforms independently restrict this creative regardless of what local rules permit. Even with documented patient consent the compliance position is weak because the image implies a typical result that cannot be assured. The alternative that does work is procedure explanation: what the treatment involves, who it suits, what recovery looks like, what the realistic range of results is, delivered by the treating clinician.

One of our doctors has more followers than the hospital account. Is that a problem?

It is normal in this field and generally useful, though it needs an arrangement agreed in advance rather than discovered when they leave. Patients trust individuals more readily than institutions, so a consultant with genuine reach brings the hospital far more than a corporate account will, and suppressing that to protect brand symmetry wastes the strongest asset you have. What matters is clarity on who owns the account, what happens to the content library and audience if the doctor moves on, and whether the hospital is named and tagged consistently. We recommend running both surfaces, with the doctor's channel carrying the education and the institutional channel carrying facilities, departments and access information.

How do we know if social media is bringing in patients?

Imperfectly, and any agency reporting a precise patient attribution number from healthcare social is guessing. The path typically runs from a video watched weeks earlier, to a brand search, to a phone call to the front desk, and none of that appears in a social analytics dashboard. What we track instead is the combination that moves together when it is working: profile and website visits from social, appointment link clicks, branded search volume, direct message enquiries, and a how did you hear about us question at registration, which remains the most reliable single input available. We report those alongside reach rather than converting them into a fabricated attribution figure.
