Paid media for a wedding planner is not a volume exercise. You are buying a small number of conversations with families who will spend lakhs, in a market where the same click can bring a shortlist-ready couple or a cousin doing price research on a phone. Two things break most planner ad accounts. The first is that budget gets spread evenly across the year when demand is violently seasonal, so money burns in the dead months and runs out in the weeks that matter. The second is that nobody scores the enquiries, so the account optimises toward whichever form fills fastest, which is almost always the wrong tier. We fix the calendar first, then the targeting, then the feedback loop that tells the platform what a good enquiry looks like.
The economics of this category are unusual enough to change how an account is built. A planner may need ten to fifteen signed mandates in a year, which at typical enquiry to signature ratios means a few hundred qualified enquiries, not tens of thousands of clicks. That makes learning phase behaviour a real constraint: campaigns optimising toward a conversion event that fires a handful of times a week will never exit learning cleanly, so we optimise toward an upper funnel event with volume, such as a qualified consultation booking or a deep engagement signal, and use offline conversion imports to teach the platform which of those actually became a mandate. Channel roles also separate cleanly. Meta and Instagram carry discovery and the emotional case, and they are where portfolio film performs, which is why creative refresh rate matters more than bid tinkering. Google Search picks up families who have already chosen a venue or destination and are shortlisting planners, so it is smaller, more expensive per click and far higher intent. YouTube sits in between and is badly underused by planners despite the category being entirely visual. Attribution is genuinely hard here because the research window can run a year and the decision is made by a family group across several devices, so we lean on self-reported source on the enquiry form alongside platform data rather than trusting either one alone. We run all of this from Powai, Mumbai, and our team has managed ₹50Cr+ in ad spend since 2017 as a Google and Meta partner.
